Welcome to Karnataka Nephrology Association

ABOUT US

In the 1980s, a group of nephrologists in Karnataka came together informally to discuss challenging cases and enjoy a meal. This marked the inception of the Karnataka Nephrology Association (NAK). The credit for this idea goes to the late Sri Dr. NC Talwalkar, known as the father of Karnataka Nephrology. The association was formed with the intention of creating a platform for collaboration and knowledge sharing, without any political agenda.

Since its establishment, the Karnataka Nephrology Association has operated under the leadership of convenors who are chosen unanimously by all members. This approach ensures a united and cohesive association. Over the years, the Karnataka Nephrologists Association has earned a reputation as one of the best and most tightly-knit associations in the country.

The Nephrology Association of Karnataka, which initially began as an informal gathering of a few nephrologists three decades ago, has experienced remarkable growth and progress. It now proudly represents a membership of over two hundred nephrologists. This substantial expansion is a testament to the association’s dedication, collaborative spirit, and commitment to advancing the field of nephrology in Karnataka.
